Kowa Foods

As a Sino-Japanese joint venture, Kowa has four categories of featured products including dozens of varieties, mainly consist of seaweed, small fish, shellfish and Japanese seasoned foods. These products have been well sold in Japan, North America, Europe and Southeast Asia.

Kowa reached out to KIMCP on North America’s marketing strategy for seaweed to boost the sale of their product.

Challenge:

KIMCP was tasked with increasing Kowa’s sales in North America by 30% year-over-year, aligning promotion and affiliate marketing. A key challenge was creating incentives for affiliates without aggressive discount offers.

Plan

KIMCP created an exclusive offer for affiliates including:

  • Discount shipping fee

  • Free samples

  • 12% discount to bulk orders

To further incentivize affiliates, we sent gift baskets to the top affiliate seller each month.

Performance

Through strategic planning of incentives and offers, KIMCP was able to position affiliate marketing as the largest source of offline sales for Kowa.
